Is the Panasonic GH5 The Best Camera for Stock Footage? Perhaps and it depends on what Footage you specialize in. There are many camera’s out there these days. For example drones like DJI Mavic are great for traveling and filming 4k aerial videos. You can learn how to film with this drone in my course btw.
The DJI Osmo is a nice mobile camera that can shoot stabilized 4k video on the ground or POV shots from a car. I also have a course on that.
The Panasonic GH5’s best strength in the stock footage world is it’s ability to shoot high frame rates at high Video resolutions. Specifically 4k Video resolution at 60 frames per second (fps) or full hd at 180 fps. The slow motion look makes everything look especially in slow motion. Canon SLR camera’s could only do 60 fps at 720p. You could focus on filming 4k video at 60fps and I’m sure you would have some success. The GH5 also has built in body and lens stabilization, which is another asset for stock footage. Where it falls short is low light footage, which is one of the niches that I do well in. Check out the video for more and if you want to learn more about Video and stock footage with this camera check out my GH 5 Online Course.
